With regret, Premier League Buzz is to cease. I would like to thank all those involved in setting up and contributing to this blog, its been fun but at the same time very frustrating because of the crazy rules affecting the Premier League and what can and cannot be published. Allow me to explain, I will explain because I feel obligated to let the many fans of this site know the truth.
When this site started in June of this year, a great deal of time and effort went into setting the blog up and plenty more time and effort has been put in to keep the site fresh, informative and interesting. By the large number of nice complimentary comments we have received (and some not so complimentary) its obvious we achieved what we set out to do. This site was never intended to be profit-making, we have never received any type of sponsorship or advertising and never recieved any monetary gain because it was purely a blog to inform fans of the Premier League because of our love of the game.
However, during the time of this blog being in existance we have had to endure non-stop threats of legal action mainly from Football DataCo, they forced us to remove all fixtures relating to the Premier League because as they put it, a license fee needs to be paid to publish fixtures which are copyrighted, I wont go into detail but for those who are interested visit their site and you can read all about their high-handed licensing attitude towards fan blogs, fan sites etc.
These same people forced us to remove many other things from our blog including club crests and certain photographs. The Premier League themselves objected to us using their emblem, despite the fact that we were helping to promote the Premier League and the clubs within it, totally over-the-top lunacy. If we were making profit by using the Premier League copyrighted items I could fully understand their stance to protect their rights, but to simply be pedantic is ridiculous.
I could list other legal threats made to us by Fotball Dataco but to be honest I cannot be bothered. This site was run as a hobby for want of a better word, but it has got to the stage where it is no longer fun to continue for fear of more threats, so sadly, I have decided to cease the site.
Please feel free to drop me your comments I have always welcomed your views and still do. Thank you to the many thousands of fans of this blog who have been following us from the start and Im very sorry to let you down by stopping the site but don`t blame me for ceasing, please direct your anger at the Football DataCo who seem to be intent on causing as many problems for fan sites and blogs as they can. Here is their email address should you wish to comment to them info@football-dataco.com

Mark Hughes was full of praise for his Manchester City side following their 3-1 victory over West Ham.
The Blues gave an impressive display of attacking intent at Eastlands as they eased to a fifth win in six Premier League outings.
Carlos Tevez stole the show against his former club as he bagged a brace, while Martin Petrov proved how devastating he can be when on top form as he made one and scored another.
Craig Bellamy also proved to be a menace throughout for City, who should have won by more, and Hughes is delighted to see his new-look side gelling together so early in the season. Read full story at Sky Sports

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola slammed his side’s first-half performance following their 3-1 loss at Manchester City. The Hammers were behind after just five minutes at Eastlands as Carlos Tevez struck.Carlton Cole bagged an equaliser, but Martin Petrov made it 2-1 at half-time. Things did not improve after the break as Tevez wrapped up the match with his second, and Zola was not happy.
The Hammers chief was also not too pleased with referee Chris Foy, who disallowed a Scott Parker goal in the first-half – but he refused to blame the officials for the loss.
“It was a game, in my opinion, that we didn’t play at all and yes maybe there was a couple of mistakes from the referee but that is part of the game,” Zola said on Sky Sports News. “But the standard I am expecting from the team is much more, in the second-half we were better. Manchester City blew away a few of their post derby-day cobwebs with an extra-time Carling Cup victory over Fulham on Wednesday night. That win followed their first defeat of the season at neighbours Manchester United which came after a faultless start in their opening five games in all competitions.
Defeat to neighbours Manchester United may have left City fans feeling blue, but owner Sheikh Mansour responded to the loss by splashing more cash, buying the remaining 10% of shares from former owner Thaksin Shinawatra.
West Ham are winless in three trips to the North West in all competitions so far this season. Despite their spluttering start Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola insists West Ham can emulate last season’s eigth place finish and claims his players are up for the challenge.
However, goalkeeper Robert Green launched a stinging attack on his teammates after their Carling Cup defeat at Bolton. Read full match preview at BBC Sport

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has rejected suggestions that manager Phil Brown is in danger of being sacked.
The Tigers were mauled 6-1 by Liverpool on Saturday to further increase the pressure on the manager.
Brown has presided over a number of losses from their last 24 Premier League games following their slump in form at the end of last season.
But Duffen claims reports which suggested he was poised to end Brown’s three-year reign at the KC Stadium are purely ‘media mischief’.
“There is no speculation at the football club about the manager’s position,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.
“That’s just mischief making in the media if there is. We are certainly not aware of it.
“At the moment we are seven games into a new campaign and we are right in the mix.
“Only a few points separate us from the middle of the league and I am really pleased with the signs I see developing in the squad.” Report from 4thegame

Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun have been ruled out of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash with Fiorentina.
The midfield pair have not travelled with the rest of the squad to Italy for Tuesday’s Group E tie due to illness and injury respectively.
Maschaerano, who made a late appearance off the bench in the weekend win over Hull City, is suffering from sickness, while Benayoun picked up a leg knock in the same game.
Argentine enforcer Mascherano was expected to return to the starting line-up against Fiorentina, but his absence means Steven Gerrard is likely to continue in midfield alongside Lucas Leiva. Read full story at Caughtoffside

Sol Campbell has revealed the reasons behind his decision to quit Notts County just one game into a five-year contract.
The experienced centre-half stunned the football world this summer when he opted to move to Meadow Lane as a free agent.
The former Arsenal, Tottenham and Portsmouth ace insisted he was happy to make the step down to League Two, claiming he was excited to be part of the ambitious plans at County.
However, having initially struggled for fitness, he dramatically walked out on the Magpies last week after making just one first-team appearance – in a 2-1 defeat against Morecambe.
Campbell had lasted just 29 days on the banks of the River Trent, making a mockery of the big-money contract he penned upon his arrival.
The England international claims he had to leave in order to keep his World Cup ambitions alive, but his decision has been widely condemned by the football fraternity. Read full story at CaughtOffside
